What Ozzy Osbourne – Mr Crowley is about
An Ozzy song about the mysterious Aleister Crowley.I only have a vague idea of what Aleister Crowley was, most probably some kind of spiritualist whose teachings made an impression on Ozzy Osbourne.
Why to love Ozzy Osbourne – Mr Crowley
This song has interesting lyrics and decent music, if somewhat slow-paced. It’s much softer than the usual hard rock songs we’re used to from Ozzy Osbourne, but I think this actually works well, because nobody’s yelling and shrieking, but the singer manages to convey emotions with his voice, especially towards the ending. I find it pleasant to listen to because it tells us a fascinating story, if not for anything else..
Why you might not like Ozzy Osbourne – Mr Crowley
Mr. Crowley lacks the usual Ozzy whackiness, loudness and fast riffs. It’s a song non metals fans are likely to enjoy, but if you’re looking for a Black Sabbath / Ozzy song like Iron Man or the epic Black Sabbath, you’ll be dissapointed.
Additional Information
Ozzy Osbourne – Mr Crowley Lyrics
Mr. Crowley, what went on in your head
Mr. Crowley, did you talk with the dead
Your life style to me seemed so tragic
With the thrill of it all
You fooled all the people with magic
You waited on Satan’s call
Mr. Charming, did you think you were pure
Mr. Alarming, in nocturnal rapport
Uncovering things that were sacred manifest on this Earth
Conceived in the eye of a secret
And they scattered the afterbirth
(solo)
Mr. Crowley, won’t you ride my white horse
Mr. Crowley, it’s symbolic of course
Approaching a time that is classic
I hear maidens call
Approaching a time that is drastic
Standing with their backs to the wall
Was it polemically sent
l wanna know what you meant
I wanna know
I wanna know what you meant
